“Because of The First Tee, I know I can reach my dreams and goals in the future.”

– Nikki, participant

The First Tee program doesn’t just get kids on the course; it offers exciting opportunities for growth. With the help of The First Tee national corporate partners, more advanced participants can apply to attend these golf and leadership events. These events often become life-changing experiences. Youth meet new people, play golf, achieve greatness, and show our Nine Core Values in action.

We are pleased to announce the schedule of participant opportunities conducted by the home office. As one of the leading chapters in the network, it has been a great honor of ours to have many of our participants here in Seattle selected for these opportunities. And we hope YOU are the next one to be selected!

2) Review the Eligibility Criteria for each event HERE and determine if you would qualify. Might be this year, or might be in the future!

  • Chapters may nominate/send application link to up to 5 eligible participants.
  • We will be awarding both a male and female pro/junior champion instead of an overall pro/junior champion. A minor change to this year’s event is in regards to the field size. PGA TOUR Champions has decreased the number of pros to 78 so the participant field will also be reduced to 78.
  • An interview at the chapter PRIOR to sending in an application is a requirement that must be completed.
  • EVERY element of the application will be stringently reviewed by the judging panel, so please be sure that each part of the application is thoroughly completed – including the Chapter Letter of Involvement Form.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that each applicant from your chapter is highly qualified and 100% ready to compete at Pebble Beach and represent the First Tee in front of an international audience. Players must be physically and mentally able to play up to 5-6 rounds in one week while carrying their own golf bag, while keeping pace of play according to the PGA TOUR Rules and Competitions guidelines. Players must have an updated and accurate USGA Handicap, please see strict eligibility requirements.

Tournament Procedures

  • Juniors will learn of the PGA TOUR Champions player with whom they are paired on Tuesday of tournament week.  The pairings will be revealed at a very special pro-junior mixer on Tuesday evening. This increases the opportunity for juniors to play one or even two practice rounds with their pro.
  • The tournament does not allow caddies for junior contestants. This will assist with the pace of play, and provide juniors an opportunity to experience carrying their own bag as they would in other high profile junior golf and college tournaments.
  • Juniors who don’t make the Sunday cut will have the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt that is designed to follow play and cheer on your fellow participants.
