The First Tee Leadership & Life Skills Academy

San Diego State University

SEATTLE CHAPTER APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 18, 2013 
Each summer, selected participants of The First Tee attend the Life Skills and Leadership Academy, where they play championship golf, participate in life skills activities and career exploration, experience dorm living and meet a wide variety of young people from around the world.  The overall purpose of the Academy is to provide participants with valuable character education and leadership instruction. University of Richmond

SEATTLE APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 18, 2013
This Academy is intended for advanced players within the network pursuing collegiate golf.  20-25 elite participants from The First Tee Chapters will be selected to attend.  Student eligibility is at a high standard. The Advanced Academy Mission is:  To create an experience rich in both golf and Life Skills learning that will improve the participants chances to compete at a higher level athletically and academically while stressing the overarching concept that continuous learning is the foundation to becoming an elite PLAYer of the games of golf and life. Succeeding Together℠ is a video essay contest sponsored by Wells Fargo for teenage participants of The First Tee® who want to share examples of how working together has shaped their lives.

The grand-prize winner will receive a 4-day/3-night trip for two to Charlotte, North Carolina to play in the Wells Fargo Championship pro-am with Rickie Fowler as a guest of Wells Fargo.

Three first-prize winners will receive a 4-day/3-night trip for two to Charlotte, North Carolina to attend the Wells Fargo Championship and experience up-close the excitement of a PGA TOUR event from inside the ropes.  Click here for more information and to enter.

 

RBS Achiever of the Year Award

SEATTLE DUE DATE: APRIL 5, 2013

 The RBS Acheiver of the Award is designed to reward deserving students who have used The First Tee Nine Core Values to overcome difficult circumstances. This scholarship is not based on academic achievements or exceptional golf skills. The goal of the award program is to positively impact youth by rewarding participants for exemplifying one or more of The First Tee Nine Core Values™.

Ten participants from The First Tee network are selected as RBS Achievers of the Year semifinalists each year. Two of the 10 winners are then named RBS Achievers of the Year finalists and receive a $15,000 award for ongoing education. Each of the eight semifinalists receive a $3,000 award to be used for ongoing education after high school. Finalists will receive a trip to Philadelphia to accept their scholarship. To read more and to apply, click here.

 

The Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach

Each year, The Pebble Beach Open showcases the talent and character of First Tee participants in an official PGA Champions Tour event. The event pairs each junior with a Champions Tour Player and two amateurs for a showdown on one of the nicest golf courses in the world. Throughout the event participants are treated just like the pros, making for a once in a lifetime experience. Click here to review the application.
