Overview The First Tee of Greater Seattle’s program consists of two curricula designed primarily for 8-18 year olds:
One is focused on golf,
The other is focused on life skills. To make progress, participants must show proficiency in both golf and life. The Golf Curriculum starts by teaching participants the fundamentals of the game. As players become more skilled, they have the opportunity to progress into competitive, tournament play with their mentors as constant guides. The Life Skills Curriculum was formulated with the help of academic, coaching and golf experts. It is used to further enhance and instill the inherent values of the game of golf, and show participants how these values transfer into other aspects of their lives. Students are taught about responsibility, trust, how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences, how to set goals, how to define those goals, the importance of maintaining a positive attitude as well as the importance of showing respect for others. These lessons for life are taught through a variety of golf-related exercises designed with the primary goal of having fun. All of these lessons are based on the Nine Core Values of The First Tee: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy, Judgment.
Spring classes will begin at the end of April. Please continue to check back for our registration link and schedule information. To be added to our mailing list to receive updates on schedules and registration, please email shelby@thefirstteeseattle.org.

The JAB Mentoring Program The high school golfers of The First Tee of Greater Seattle have been working hard to create the first ever Junior Advisory Board (JAB) and Mentor/Mentee program! This new mentoring program is for participants ages 8-12 and gives them the unique opportunity to be mentored by a high school student of The First Tee. The JAB hopes to inspire the mentees to live well, learn about the world around them, and much more, while introducing them to community service opportunities and goal setting. JAB hope to make an impact on the lives of the mentees through group activities, field trips, and one-on-one time with their mentors during weekly Open Play sessions. Questions on getting involved as a mentor or a JAB member? Call Kimberly at 206-851-7834
