The First Tee of Greater Seattle was formed in 2001 from a collaborative effort involving the Broadmoor Golf Club Foundation, The First Tee, the Board of Municipal Golf of Seattle and the City of Seattle. We became the 106th chapter of The First Tee on December 20, 2002. Our legal name is the Seattle Junior Golf Foundation, and we do business as The First Tee of Greater Seattle.

We began programming for 224 youth in 2003 at Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle and, in 2004, we expanded to Jackson Park Golf Course, with an enrollment of 505. In 2005, we formed a partnership with the City of Bellevue to include Crossroads Par 3 and Bellevue Golf Course, and served a total of 676 participants. Riverbend Golf Complex was added in 2012 in the city of Kent and we began serving south King County with nearly 100 participants that year. We hosted our first classes at Willows Run Golf Complex in Redmond during the winter of 2015 and at Tam O’Shanter Golf & Country Club in Bellevue in the summer of 2015 to better serve the eastside. Finally, in 2016 our newest program location was added to include the Snoqualmie Valley at Blue Heron Golf Course in Carnation. We are thankful for our partner facilities for their support in providing space and access which are vital to the learning process and for our communities.

Our annual membership now includes more than 1,800 participants at 7 golf facilities throughout King County. The First Tee of Greater Seattle also serves more than 100,000 students at 200 schools through life skills programs offered in physical education classes through The First Tee’s National Schools Program.
